Acting Governor Releases 700 Qurban Animal Health Checkers

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono, symbolically released as many as 700 qurban animal health checkers who will serve on Idul Adha 1444 Hijri symbolically at Perumda Dharma Jaya, Cakung, East Jakarta, Tuesday (6/27).

Those 700 animal inspectors were from Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security Sub-agency, Faculty of Medicine of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Jakarta Branch Indonesian Veterinary Association (PDHI), Perumda Dharma Jaya, and supported by Halal Slaughterhouse, MUI and Jakarta DKM.

Even, he also involved personnel of Jakarta Transportation Agency and Satpol PP to secure the slaughter of qurban animals during Idul Adha.

"We ask for support from the health workers for qurban animals to carry out their duties of researching, supervising, and educating people who wish to make sacrifices," he explained.

As for the information, the Jakarta KPKP Agency recorded that 61,850 qurban animals had passed health check-up stage. This number has increased by 13 percent than 2022. Meanwhile, qurban animals that have been registered for slaughter have increased by around 5-7 percent at 52,000 heads.

"There are additional requests related to qurban animals. Hopefully, all healthy and there are no problems in the field," he added.

Jakarta KPKP Agency Head, Suharini Eliawati added he said the 700 qurban animal health checkers will be on duty during Idul Adha on Thursday (6/29).

"From the beginning, since June 5, antemortem officers have been deployed from the Jakarta Government's internal officers. Qurban animals in Jakarta are relatively safe and healthy to be slaughtered or sacrificed," she stated.
